Everything tastes better when it’s homemade!!
In today’s Tasty Tuesday – we are whipping up an easy batch of whipped cream.
All you need are three simple ingredients and a mixer – and you will WOW your family & friends with yummy homemade whipped cream that did NOT come from a grocery store tub.
INGREDIENTS
1 cup of heavy whipping cream
2-3 tbs sugar (white granulated)
1 tsp vanilla extract
Before we mix everything up — I want to share a trick with you to make perfect whipped cream. I got this from Ree Drummond: The Pioneer Woman. She says to take your mixing bowl and place it into the freezer for a few minutes to get the bowl very cold. You will also want to make sure your heavy whipping cream is very cold, too.
Depending on how sweet you want to make your whipping cream will decide how much sugar to add. I like it sweeter than my husband — so I typically use less than 3 tablespoons when I am making a batch for him.
After you place the ingredients into your chilled bowl — turn the mixer on high for about 3-5 minutes. You will want to watch it — because it can get over whisked quickly. You want to look for stiff peaks.
Once you are finished — you can use it on anything you like to use with whipped cream. It lasts a few days in the fridge — so it definitely will not go to waste.
My favorite thing is to pair it with fresh fruit (especially strawberries).
Enjoy!
