Halloween Activities for Toddlers

0

As a mom of an 18 month old toddler, I want to do all the fun Halloween things, but sadly I’m not willing to give her a knife to start carving pumpkins (shocking, I know) and I’m not sure how comfortable I am trick or treating in the midst of a pandemic. That does not mean that there is no spooky fun to be had. After some researching and Pinterest-ing I compiled some fun Halloween Activities for your Toddlers that are (mostly) hassle & mess free.

Cutest Bumpkin in the Patch: Yes, this is my daughters butt. #noregrets. I found this on Pinterest last year and was immediately sold on it. It has also been the verdict across multiple social media accounts that this should be a tradition till she refuses to cooperate. Pretty simple, grab a white plate from dollar tree, paint your kiddo’s butt orange, have a seat!

Spooky Breakfast: There are so many ideas on Pinterest for making your BOO-fast spooky and festive. I think to make it extra special I’ll have Amelia help me with the baking and decorating too. I will be making festive colored pancakes (purple, green, and orange) with edible eyes and I think the mommies will celebrate by eating a Dracula pancakes! You can also check out this post for other cute spooky snacks.

You’ve been BOO’ed: Stop by at your little one’s friends house and drop off a BOO bag: a bag of non-edible goodies found in the dollar section at target or your favorite Halloween book.

Decorate Pumpkins with Stickers: I wanted to give my daughter an opportunity to decorate a pumpkin without having to deal with the mess and sharp objects. I found this great sticker kit at Target and since she is obsessed with stickers it was a match made in heaven. Target also sells push-in decorating kits.

Trick or Treat: Plan to go trick or treating at family and friends during the day to avoid the Halloween rush in the top neighborhoods. We make a plan to stop by grandparents houses and take a few pictures. That also lets us stay home and pass out candy/allergy-friendly goodies and not miss bedtime. (Check out this post on how a Teal Pumpkin can change up your neighborhood trick or treating routine).

What Spooky Halloween Activities do you have planned for your little one?
