Ladies! Oh, ladies! I have a new guilty pleasure. It has become an obsession lately. Before I tell you what it is exactly you should know it is for adults only. So, if you are open-minded keep reading….
I have discovered “Book-Tok,” “bookstagram,” and the world of spicy, “smutty” romance novels. I stumbled upon it one day when I was scrolling through Tik Tok. Being a reader to begin with, it was not a stretch to indulge myself in a little romance. Oh, but little did I know! The steaminess, the “book boyfriends,” the interesting tropes to choose from. If you don’t normally read a lot a trope, it is like a theme or type of story. They tell you how the main characters are with each other, how the get along. For example, some popular ones are:
- Friends to Lovers
- Age Gap Romance
- Best Friends brother/sister
- Billionaire Romance
- Enemies to Lovers
Among many others…. Within these stories, there is usually a happily ever after (HEA). They will also usually warn you if there are any triggers because there are some stories that have “Dark Romance.” Seeing as I am new to reading these, I was surprised at the steamy descriptions of the ‘love-making’ scenes (wink). Some of them can be pretty descriptive.

Some of the authors I have discovered are page-turners for sure and I am now a fan. So, if you don’t shy away from steamy, hot writing, then I will give you a few names of the authors I have come across.

I tend to get engrossed in books when I’m reading, and sometimes it doesn’t hurt to live in a spicy fantasy. The men and women in these books are definitely some of the most ‘entertaining’ characters I’ve come across in a while (smirk).
