Top 10 Gifts for a PC Gamer

0

My husband is what you would call a “PC Gamer”.  He spends more hours than I care to admit on his computer, playing online games with people from all over the country. This is his hobby, the way he winds down after work, and honestly there are worse things he could do — am I right?! That being said, holiday gifting can be tricky because I do not always know what to get him or what he needs (ahem, I use the word “needs” very loosely).

Gifts for a Gamer

I wanted to help out the fellow wives/moms who have a PC Gamer in their lives so, without further adieu, I have put together this top 10 list {with helpful links}, and in various price points, that you can use when planning gifts!

Top 10 Gifts for a Gamer{These are not in any particular order other than when I asked my husband for his input. These are our opinion and not sponsored by any particular brand or website. This post includes some affiliate links from which CCMB will make a small referral commission. View full disclosure here. We appreciate you!}
  1. Mechanical Keyboard: This is a special keyboard for their computer that allows them the best gaming performance. It helps them be faster and is supposed to be more durable. You can find lots of different brands on Amazon, my husband I have noticed prefers the Razer brand {shown}. Price Point ranges from $30 to $100+.
  2. Gaming Mouse: Like the keyboard, this mouse {shown} is designed with special buttons and features that allow them to do things in their game faster and more efficient. These, like the keyboard, range in price from as low as $20 to $100+.
  3. New Headphones: Most “gamers” likely start out with headphones of some sort. From personal experience the headphones we have purchased just seem to wear out quicker than other things. These can again range in price from $30 to $100+. {shown}
  4. New Monitors: I actually did this last year and got my husband two matching curved monitors for his setup. In gaming, having the two monitors is really beneficial. I can promise that if they have one monitor, getting them a second one will really go a long way! The price point on monitors, like TV’s, will depend on how large of a monitor you get. {shown} {Full disclosure this is a pricey gift and should count for maybe Christmas and a birthday!}
  5. PC Part Upgrades: This one can be tricky because if you are trying to get them new Graphic Cards or cases as they can run into issues of how compatible the parts are to what they already have. This is where I would suggest a gift card to Newegg.com so they can get exactly what they want/need. {If you hate the idea of gift cards think of this as more of a stocking stuffer.}
  6. New Swag: I don’t know about your gamer but my husband LOVES his game and loves wearing all things related to said game. You can go online and find just about anything with logos and art that relates to whatever game they play. I even purchased an art piece from Etsy to hang on my husband’s man cave wall {it is coming from overseas so if it ever arrives I’ll be happy}. Also the shirt {shown} makes me laugh!
  7. New Chair: Comfort is key, because they sit for long stretches at a time. There are actual chairs that are designed for gaming. {shown} I know this because we own one and my husband recently watched the World Of Warcraft arena world championship {yes that is a thing} and they all had one! These chairs can range in price from $100-$200+.
  8. New Desk: This  is a big purchase. I did this a few years ago as a big Christmas gift for my husband before he designed and built his own custom desk this last summer. I opted for an L shape {shown}, but you can go simple and get one that fits just the computer and a few areas to hold their gaming accessories.
  9. Large Gaming Mouse Pad: I know, I know…but bear with me: they do in fact have special PC gaming mouse pads that are bigger and can optimize performance. These can range in price from $15 to $30+. {shown}
  10. Streaming Tools: Many “gamers” like to use a streaming service called Twitch to record themselves playing for others to watch. This is like your kiddos watching other kids play with toys on Youtube! There are things they need to do this like a Microphone, Streaming Camera, Green Screens, and possibly noise dampeners so that the rest of the house can not hear them talking!

I really hope this list helps you cross your “Gamer” off the list this year!  Let me know what your faves are, or if we missed anything!
