aaaaaand then throw a tantrum and scream, because mama gave you water and not soda like you demanded!

Sigh.

We limit sugar at the house as much as we can so when we are out around other families, my kids are crazy for sugar! What do you do? #thestruggleisreal

We recently took a staycation trip to the Hooks baseball game where both my 5-year-old and my 10-year-old had tantrums, because I didn’t get them soda: they got water.

Why you ask? Because I knew they would eventually ask me for more sugary treats, and I might just give in. The concession stands a a ball game are always filled with goodies: Candy, Popcorn, Cotton Candy, Ice-Cream, Milkshakes and the list goes on and on.

After much negotiation, we eventually came to a decision: We opted for some Skittles and we all shared with no complications.

Giggles about how the green ones tasted like lime and the red ones like strawberries the purple ones like grapes.

The giggles in the end completely overshadowed the 20-minute tantrum the kids gave me while we waited in line for our food. In the end it was a really fun night…a perfect combo of the stadium lights, the smells or the concession stand and fresh summer air, and the crowed going wild.

It was beautiful and we made it through the night without any fighting or complaining about when we were going home. Even better the Hooks won and stayed out a bit longer on the field to autograph baseballs! It was so worth it.

Will I take them out to a ball game again?

Yes! This mama will and we will surely share our treats again….while the kids sing Take me out to the HOOKS game!
