I am always on the lookout for cute Christmas Decorations that I can use either for my faux fireplace topper, or as a centerpiece for my kitchen table. Last year I made Buffalo Plaid my pattern of choice when it came to my Christmas color scheme, so I wanted something that would complement the Fabric Garland that I made.
I couldn’t find anything that I liked or that I was willing to pay for. So I set out to make my own!
They turned out better than I anticipated so I wanted to share this super SIMPLE DIY Christmas Tree project!
Supplies Needed:
- Floral Foam Cones in varying sizes. (I bought two in the same size and one larger one for the middle)
- Tinsel in your color of choice. (I only needed one pack for these three cones, but if you are doing more you will need more than one pack of tinsel.)
- Small shatterproof ornaments in the color of your choice. (I used 4 packages of the 20 mini shatterproof ornaments)
- Any other decorations of your choice. I wanted to top one tree with a bow so I bought a small Buffalo Plaid bow for this.
- Scissors
- Glue Gun and glue
Directions:
- Wrap each foam cone with your tinsel. Gluing the top and bottom. I did not wrap mine too tightly in order to make sure my one package of tinsel would be enough for all three.
- Now comes the fun part. Grab a drink and just start gluing ornaments in whatever way is aesthetically pleasing to you! I decided to top the smaller two with ornaments and use a bow for the top of the larger cone. I wanted them all to compliment each other and match but not be totally uniform.
- ALL DONE!!! Once you have glued your ornaments and any other decorations you choose like bows you are all done and now have a cute mini Christmas Tree forest to use in your decor.
