There are few things better than community. And as moms, the daily grind can be lonely. That’s one of the many reasons we started Corpus Christi Moms Blog. And since our launch this past Spring, I’ve been working hard, along with our amazing contributor team, executive team, and City Moms Blog Network sisters nationwide to brainstorm ideas and build a local platform that helps Coastal Bend moms connect, relate to one another, and build friendships.

But every mom needs to take time away to refresh, renew, and relax.
So, that’s exactly what City Moms Blog Network site owners and team members got to do the first weekend of October.

Personally, I was a little nervous about heading to Sister Site Conference. I was looking forward to it, as I am incredibly passionate about Corpus Christi Moms Blog and couldn’t wait to meet the women I interact with on a daily basis in real life! But I had never left my 19 month old behind.
At most, we had only ever been seven hours apart. But I knew I needed to get away. I was exhausted. My body was tired. My brain needed new ideas and adult conversation.
Thankfully, my son did great. Mom did well too.
In San Antonio, we had the opportunity to enjoy great company in a beautiful setting, thanks to our partners at JW Marriott Hill Country Resort. During our days at conference, we finally got to put faces to names. We shared stories, ideas and experiences. We brainstormed new ways to encourage and inspire local moms back home.

We attended workshops and engaged with motivational speakers who encouraged us to be celebratory thinkers who focus on encouraging, empowering, and loving others. Frankly, it was sessions like those that made me that much more proud to be part of the City Moms Blog Network and connected to so many amazing women nationwide.
We also had the opportunity to try products and services from our many local and national corporate sponsors. I was thankful for the chance to share about locally owned, Driftwood Coffee Co. And not just about how much I love their coffee, but also how much I love their story. Owned and operated by a local couple with two young children, Driftwood Coffee Co., is a small business built on passion and drive. They give me another reason to be proud of our community and the entrepreneurial spirit that exists here. It was my pleasure to spread the word about their talent, passion, and of course, delicious coffee.

When all the work was done, we had a chance to go out on the town and explore San Antonio. We had dinner and drinks, enjoyed each other’s company. We even got to do a river boat tour! {Which I’m embarrassed to say, I had never done, despite being a life-long Corpus Christian and having been to San Antonio a billion times!}
Since returning from Sister Site Conference…
Much as happened. We have launched Neighborhood and Interest Groups. We have announced new contributors who have recently joined our team. We also continue growing our Executive Team to bring you even more chances to get out, connect with local moms, plan a play date, and find your mom tribe.
So what can you expect or 2017? A lot.

For starters, you can expect more great content from local moms. We’ll continue providing you relevant information that enriches your life and experience as a mom. But we’ll also be bringing you fun events, opportunities to build your mom tribe, and more ways to get involved.
In short, we’re bringing you more ways to celebrate motherhood and one another!
So make sure you follow us on Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, and Twitter and subscribe to our newsletter to stay current on the latest resources and community events going on, as well as opportunities to get involved with playdates, moms night outs, and other events we’ll be putting on.
Awesome-sauce stuff right here!!
Thank you so much, Pam! 🙂
