Lindsey Baker is a sponsor in CCMB’s annual guide to area photographers. She specializes in fine art portraiture as well as photographing families and children.
In childhood, local photographer and artist Lindsey Baker began taking pictures with disposable cameras. Her interest in photography continued to blossom as she got her father’s Nikon film camera in high school. By senior year, she had found her true passion for the artistic aspect of the photography field.
Lindsey always knew she wanted a career in photography, but when she was growing up, a career in the field wasn’t popular, nor practical. She continued working in photography as a hobbyist, as she was in and out of school and jobs.
In 2006, Lindsey got her first digital Nikon. She kept shooting and continued learning. In 2010 her husband {boyfriend at the time} sat her down and asked where she saw her career heading. He wanted to know what she saw in her professional future. Lindsey admitted she wanted nothing more than to pursue her dream of being a photographer. His response? “Ok, then. Be a photographer.”
Lindsey took her husband’s advice and hasn’t looked back.
This year, she set a goal to be published once a month for the entire year. As of July, she had already been published 11 times.
Among the places you can find her work are Surreal Beauty Magazine, Vintage Boudoir Magazine, Gothesque Jr Magazine, and Inspire– Digital or Not Fine Art Photography Magazine.
Lindsey’s passion lies in capturing beauty as her eyes see it. She has a unique artistic vision before every shoot, and molds each session into the photo in her head. She admits her style is quirky to some, but she loves the beauty and vision of her artistry. She also loves to teach and share her knowledge with others who share photography as a passion. {She secretly hopes one or more of her children share her passion too!}
In addition to artistic portraiture, Lindsey specializes in maternity, birth, newborn, cake smash, milestone, and family photography.
Lindsey loves what she does with every stitch of her being. She gets to travel, meet new people, help families preserve memories, and so much more. Clearly, she has found her calling. Lindsey’s passion and talent are evident in her work.
But the best part? She does what she loves while spending time with her amazingly supportive husband and incredible little boy.
Lindsey’s next goal is to be published in bigger name magazines and to shoot children’s runway fashion.
