Texas is home, but we have lived in Lake Charles, Louisiana for the last year due to my husband’s job. I am an oil field wife, so I knew sooner or later, we’d move again, this time to the Coastal Bend. We both grew up in East Texas so we are thrilled to do life back in our home state and live the beach life. What more could I ask for, right? Although we are not officially moved at this time, we have both been researching the area. I don’t know what it is about Texas beach towns, but they are filled with the nicest, most genuine folks. We are dreaming of all the beach days we will spend with our son. Corpus just feels right.
I am a first-time mom to our handsome baby boy, Leonardo. He joined us earthside August 2018. Wow! Time flies. He is everything I needed that I didn’t even know needed. He has taught me so many things, but the biggest one has been to slow down and enjoy the moment. He has the sweetest yet most mischievous personality. Definitely keeps us on our toes. I am a stay at home mama so I don’t miss a beat. Our days are busy, our home filled with toys, our kitchen sometimes messy…and even though I struggled with this in the beginning, I have learned to accept that all the chaos and the mess means that we are living life, our best life. Leonardo loves deep, he hugs tight and he gives the sweetest kisses. I am still in disbelief that he is MINE! Needless to say, being a mom is my favorite thing in the world.
I developed a love for writing as a child. I kept diaries all of my life. I remember pouring my heart out on paper after the 9/11 attacks. Then my sister found my dairy and read out loud to the world. I was furious because my writing was an outlet for me, a way to release feelings and emotions. I now have a college degree in Journalism and wrote a lot for the college’s newspaper and magazine. This is really my first writing gig. I had a bank job for eight years and then I became a mama and decided that staying home to raise my baby was what I wanted to do. I absolutely love being a stay at home mama but I have really started to miss writing. This opportunity has been God sent. I am thrilled to be a contributor for the Corpus Christi Moms Blog and cannot wait to share my experiences with you!
