I was 31 years old when I figured out the purpose of pockets in pajamas. The purpose, my dear friends, is to stuff them full of candy and sneak pieces when your toddler isn’t looking.
Game. Changer.
I find myself choosing my pajamas specifically if they have pockets. If they don’t they may as well be dead to me. From frockets to regular pockets this has become a nightly routine for my wife and I. Usually we wait till the little one is in bed and prance off to the pantry asking the other if they desire any ‘pocket candy.’ If we’ve had a rough day we re-fill our stash long before the toddler is in bed.
Let me warn you though, you MUST be secretive about sampling this pocket candy in front of your children because if they figure out you have treasure in your pants you are doomed not just for the night but for all eternity. If I know one thing for sure, it’s that kids don’t forget what you want them to forget: they hold onto it forever. As a result, this little piece of sanity that you have held onto by a thread, disappears because you couldn’t wait two seconds to sample your pocket candy when their head was turned. Choose your moments wisely dear friends.
Lately my pocket candy has been Valentine’s Day Conversations Hearts.
What is your go-to pocket candy?
