Have you ever thought of yourself as a role model?
The term role model is often used and sometimes we may be intimidated and think we are not role models.
Recently, I was reflecting and thinking of how not only what I do affects my daughter, but now my granddaughter.
I try my best to be the very best version of me.

I know the two of them look up to me and often wonder if I am living up to my best me! Just recently I have been given the amazing opportunity to mentor some young middle school girls and I can tell you what….at first I was not sure.
I wasn’t sure if I had anything to offer or if could offer some sound advice. I thought about the opportunity and how my life experiences is something I have learned from and how I am still learning. I often think we underestimate the influence we have on our children, but also our nieces or nephews.
My oldest nephew shared a story with me recently and just when I think he isn’t watching me or even listening to what have to say….he is!
He made me smile when he went out of his way to kind and loving to a stranger.
I know many of you play a huge role in the lives of the young people around us. I encourage you to be the best version of yourself daily. I encourage you to be in competition with no one, but yourself. I encourage you to take the time to share your life experiences with those around you.
