Coastal Bend
I like to say that I’m from Texas! I grew up in the North Houston suburbs, then spent ten years in Fort Worth, and four years in Wichita Falls, before moving to Corpus Christi for my husband’s job in 2019. We love Corpus Christi and hope to make this a home base for our grown kids to come back to!
Mom
My husband Michael and I were high school sweethearts. We have four kiddos: ages 18, 16, 9, and 7. So that kind of makes me feel like the young mom and the old mom depending on whether I’m with my bigs or my littles! I work from home part-time so I’m able to be the glue that holds the family together, but still pursue my interests. A big chunk of my mothering was spent homeschooling, though all of our kids are in school now. We just sent our oldest son off to college, so I feel like I’m entering a new phase of motherhood. I’m the kind of mom that worries more about what her kids might see on a YouTube video than if they scrape their knees while climbing a tree.
Collective
I’ve always enjoyed reading, writing, and discussing big ideas. I was a classroom teacher in my 20’s, but now I work in health education, teaching women to chart their cycles for family planning or to help with treatment for fertility issues. I’ve found blogging to be a great way to reach new audiences, and to process my own thoughts about hard topics. Blogging has also challenged me to learn new technology-something I have a love/hate relationship with!
