Meet the Writers: Say hello to Madison O’Brien!

Madison

Coastal Bend

My wife and I moved to the Coastal Bend in 2017. She was born and raised here while I grew up with lots of moves around Texas and Louisiana. I am happy to have a place close to family and friends that are basically to raise our growing family. Although we live in Corpus Christi, I have taught Technical Theater at Gregory-Portland High School for the past 6 years.  On weekends and cool Texas evenings you will often find us at the beach or socializing at a local brewery.

Mom

I am a mom to a beautiful daughter, Amelia . She was born in May 2019 to both my wife and I and we are so in love. She is the best of both of us. She was conceived via Reciprocal IVF which means we used my wife, Krystal’s egg with donor sperm and I carried the baby. It has been such a challenging, rewarding, and beautiful journey to motherhood for both of us and we are so incredibly lucky to have our Amelia. We are currently expecting our second child due in May 2023, who was conceived via Invocell (posts to come on that later).

Collective

Writing has always been a passion but also a therapeutic outlet and how I process whatever motherhood and life has thrown at me presently. As my wife and I began our fertility journey it became more than just an outlet for me but a way to educate those closest to us about our journey. With the arrival of Amelia, I began searching for “mom friends” and stumbled upon CBMC, and thought about how I would love to be a part of such a cool resource. This resource has since turned into beautiful friendships with women I am proud and honored to call my TRIBE.
