National Take Your Dog to Work Day!

0

I can’t think of a better way to spend the day at work than with your dog by your side.  I don’t know about you guys, but I love dogs!!

National Take Your Dog to Work Day (celebrated this year on June 21st!) was first created and celebrated in 1999. The purpose was to bring awareness to adoptions from local shelters.  The relationship owners have with their furry friends is a strong bond.

One bond that is extremely strong is the one with Rod and his loveable dog, Hooch.  Hooch is a French Mastiff with a great personality with a love for baths and swimming.  He belongs to a local restaurant owner, Rod who would take Hooch into the restaurant and have him sit on their outdoor patio.  The staff loved when Hooch would stop by and customers always asked to pet him.  I am sure with Hooch around the customers felt protected and those who crazy over dogs were sure to come back to see him.  There is just something when I see a dog and seeing this rock star dog Hooch brightens my day!!

National Take Your Dog to Work DayIf possible you can check with your boss to ask if your dog is allowed to join you for this one day at work.  I know getting tasks done that day may be hard, but it will surely bring a great vibe to your office.

There are so many dogs in local shelters it may be a great idea to bring awareness to adopt locally.  We have shelters in our area who focus on education, low-cost pet vaccinations, and even obedience classes.  There is even an opportunity to give back with your time to walk the dogs in the shelter or provide a donation of food or money towards their cause.  I know bring your Dog to work day is only one day, but it allows us to bring awareness to the many dogs in the local shelters.  You never know you may end up bringing home a furry friend that turns out to be your best buddy!

Hooch sure does bring a lot of joy to Rod with his awesome personality!!
