Gift Guide for Toddlers

0

Ah, the toddler years.

So full of curiosity and all of their first experiences. They are always learning and making all sorts of connections in their brains which is why learning toys and activities should be perfect for your little one this holiday season! Seeing them using their 5 senses and “connect dots” while playing is a win-win for them and us as parents. I know as a momma to a 16 month old, seeing her eyes light up when she realizes something new or how something works makes me so excited for what’s in the future for her.

So without further ado, here are 10 ideas for our toddlers:

{These are not in any particular order, are solely our opinion and not sponsored by any particular brand or website. This post includes some affiliate links from which CCMB will make a small referral commission. View full disclosure here. We appreciate you!}

1.  Teach My Toddler Learning Kit This kit comes with all sorts of flashcards, posters, board books and puzzles to get them prepared for school or even just to put them ahead. Of course, our toddlers will probably be more interested in tossing them all around and then gathering them up and doing it all over again (or at least my kid would). The learning aids in this kit consist of numbers, colors, letters, and shapes so we as parents can help them learn. Its also a great way to keep your child screen free and keep them engaged with you!

2. Foreign Language Blocks I don’t know about you guys, but I just have this vision of my child speaking all kinds of cool languages (because she’s obviously going to travel and take Mom and Dad along!). The toddler ages are the best time for them to learn different languages because their brains are basically a sponge and they absorb everything. These blocks are fun because who doesn’t love blocks and building? At the same time, they can be a visual aid for them and have the words to help with pronunciations. Right now, the only languages available are Chinese, Mandarin and Spanish, but I hope in the future, there will be more!

3. Construction Plate and Utensil Set Do you have a picky eater in your life? I do so I know all about it! This cute little set is unique in the fact that while you’re trying to get them to eat those horrible, nasty veggies, they can also begin using those fun little imaginations. Who wouldn’t want a bulldozer pushing their food onto a fork or spoon?

4. Books You can never go wrong with getting your child new books! Engaging those little brains is always a good thing. I prefer the board books just because my daughter carries hers with her wherever she goes. Plus, they’re always ready to sit with you and hear you read.

5. Crayola Magic Light Brush & Drawing Pad Looking for a stocking stuffer?? Ya’ll. This has got to be one of coolest things ever invented. I LOVE the fact that the paints only work on the special kind of paper. So while they’re painting and working on those cute little artistic skills we know and love, you can sit back and enjoy your coffee knowing that your furniture and walls are safe.

6. Jumbo Extra Thick Cardboard Blocks So I know from experience when I take my child to library time (and being a former preschool teacher)  and they finally have free play, every single child goes for these. They’re perfect for gross motor skills, fine motor skills, helping with colors, learning to build, hand-eye coordination, etc… the list goes on and on for these blocks! And kids of all ages love them!

7. Teddy Ruxpin You guys… He’s back!!! I don’t know you but I had one as a child and he was literally my best friend. It just goes to show that the good stuff never goes out of style. Teddy has been upgraded and has all kinds of cool features! From LCD eyes with 40 different animations to new stories and songs that your toddler can learn and sing and dance to. He also has an app that you can get more cool things for him to do. This might be one of the hottest toys this year! And you heard it here first on Corpus Christi Moms Blog!

8. VTech Touch and Learn Activity Desk Deluxe This activity desk comes jam-packed with all sorts of educational content for your little one. From colors and numbers to fruits and letters, this fun table will keep your little munchkin occupied for hours all at the expense of learning! Another plus is that you are able to lift the desktop and underneath is a chalkboard. Expansion packs are also available if you would like to add more.  This desk is and will be a hot item ticket for years to come.

9. Radio Flyer Busy Buggy No gift list for a toddler can go without some sort of wheels! The Radio Flyer Busy Buggy for lack of a better word, will keep your little one BUSY. It has all sorts of little gadgets that can help with fine motor skills as well as being able to ride and push it will help with the gross motor skills. Another advantage to this is that it has storage underneath the seat so they can carry whatever they want to with them.

10. Baby Shark Singing Plush Unless you’ve lived under a rock this year, you’ve probably heard of a little song called “Baby Shark”. It was sent from somewhere unearthly to drive us parents up the wall, am I right? And lets be honest, when you can’t sleep at night, what’s floating around in your head? Not cute little cuddly sheep or birds. Its the lyrics to that dreadful song. But when your child’s face lights up when it comes on and they start doing all the motions to it, it makes you happy on the inside (although your face probably doesn’t show it). So what better gift than to give them the song anywhere you go? It comes in different colors like blue, pink and yellow. Although its not as educational as I’d like it to be, it will probably become your toddlers new best friend.

So, there you have it: a few of our favorite toddler toys for this season. Let us know what you’re getting your kiddos in the comments!
