Popsicle Stick Christmas Trees
This child friendly craft is perfect for a Sunday school or class activity. Glue popsicle sticks into a triangle, use pom-poms, scrapbook paper, ribbon, or tinsel to decorate the trees, and turn them into beautiful Christmas ornaments!
Paint Chip Christmas Tree Cards
The teacher in me LOVES these paint chip Christmas three cards. I use paint chip samples all the time in the classroom and the thought of using them on my Christmas cards fills me with glee. By combining different tones of green, you can create a truly unique card for everyone on your list.
Scrap Ribbon Tree Ornaments
I’m beginning to sense a Christmas tree theme here…
If you stockpile ribbon like a few people I know, you can pull out all of those green and brown spools and cut a few inches off of each. Then, using a real tree stick (talk about eco-friendly,) alternate the colors to create a unique tree ornament. (These would make adorable teacher gifts.)
Pine Cones and Pom-Poms
This is perhaps one of the easiest ornaments to make. The hardest part is finding pine cones. But once you have secured them, all you need to do is hot glue the smaller sized pom-poms to the tip of the edges of the pine cone.
Fingerprint Christmas Craft
Fingerprint designs are always a win if you’re making gifts for parents and grandparents. You can create a string of Christmas lights, elves, a manger scene, or even a Christmas wreath!
Joy Picture Letters
This craft is for sure on my to-do list. Using paper printouts of family pictures, use Mod Podge to adhere them to the letters J, O, and Y. The letters can be found at any local craft store. Paint them the desired Christmas color then glue everything on. Be sure to spray with a sealant after so that these letters can be used for years to come!
Picture Coasters
Much like the Joy Letters, this is an easy gift involving family pictures and Mod Podge. Using ceramic tiles that can be found at any hardware store, glue the pictures to the tiles using Mod Podge. Once everything is dry and the tiles have been sprayed with a sealant, glue felt to the back of the tiles and your coasters are done.
Make Your Own Snow Globe
I remember doing this with a few friends in college. Perhaps the easiest way is to find a beautiful ornament that will fit in the mason jar you have selected. Hot glue the ornament to the bottom of the mason jar lid so that when the jar is upside down, the ornament will be standing right-side up inside the jar. Throw in some fake snow and bam! Instant snow globe. If you want to get crazy, you can add some water and glitter, but that usually ends with a HUGE mess and glitter everywhere. Seriously. Glitter everywhere.
Fun ideas!! I did the Joy Picture Letters for my daughter last year….they were so easy and turned out so pretty. The hardest part? Selecting pics that were small enough to fit on the letters I bought. So fun and such a beautiful gift!
