With Thanksgiving and Christmas around the corner, gift-giving is on my mind already. Now I know store-bought gifts and gift cards are often the first things that come to mind. But, I also like homemade gifts that really come from the heart. There is just something about receiving (and giving) something that is homemade!
Here are some of my favorite homemade gifts to give for the holidays.
Homemade Drink Gifts
A fun way to treat your friends and family is to make a drink mix. I LOVE hot cocoa… especially on the rare occasions when it gets nippy outside! Actually, my family believes anytime is a good time for a cup of hot chocolate. I recommend you have fun with this one and find some cute packaging to go with this gift! I like the Hot Cocoa and Santa Reindeer Cones from Hip2Save. Too cute!
Want to treat neighbors or a family to a hot cocoa night? You can send them a box or jar of hot chocolate mix with all the necessary hot chocolate mix-ins. I made a Peppermint Hot Cocoa Basket for my kids’ teachers in the past, too. Just add some candy canes, miniature or holiday shaped marshmallows, caramel candies, or any other hot chocolate mix-ins. Then, your friends and family are set to create their own at-home hot cocoa bar!
Homemade “Hot Stuff” Gifts
Another favorite gift for us to give is homemade salsa. My mouth literally starts to water when I start thinking about salsa and chips. Ya’ll know it’s a Texas thing. If you’ve never tried canning, there’s no better time than now. The first time I tried it, I did some research (mostly on Pinterest,) found some ideas and recipes, and went from there. (My hubby and I really enjoy making this together!) Add some ribbon or twine, a cute tag, and of course, a bag of chips to your delicious gift of homemade salsa, and you’re set.
If you like the tags I made for these jars of salsa, feel free to use my Printable Homemade Salsa tag!

Homemade Sweet Treat Gifts
Sweet treats are definitely my thing! Last year, our family and friends received a tin full of delicious homemade sweets. I baked some of my favorite treats to eat, wrapped them up nicely, and gave them as Christmas gifts. Some treats that I included were sugar cookies, Pecan Sandies, M&M chocolate chip cookies, candy bark, and chocolate covered Oreos. Needless to say, they were a hit!
