A few tips to remember before donating or reselling gently used items:
- Make sure the items you are donating or reselling are in good condition, free of rips and stains and are still in working order.
- Remove all hangers from clothing, including new clothing.
- Wash all items before donating or reselling. Items need to free of pet hair. Be sure to check pockets, once items are donated. It is almost impossible to retrieve anything that was included but shouldn’t have been.
- When donating, make sure the items you are donating are in sturdy boxes or bags without holes. It takes most donation sites a few days or more to go through all the donated items. If there are tears or holes in bags or boxes, there is a good chance bugs will get in and ruin donated items.
