I am an avid reader and love to bury my face in a good digital novel every night before bed.
Since we are basically stuck at home for the unforeseeable future and one can only watch so much Netflix – I wanted to write a quick book review for “Stay Forever” by Darcy Schroeder.
Before I jump into the book – I wanted to tell you how I found out about it. The Author, Darcy happens to live and work in Corpus Christi. I taught her oldest son math when I was at Incarnate Word Academy. We became acquaintances (well, how could we NOT – we both have the same name, spelled correctly, and we both started our careers in the news business). In 2018, I saw her post about it on social media and quickly downloaded her first book.
Darcy currently works in public relations at a local refinery but has a passion for fiction writing.
“Stay Forever” is a coming home story about a 30-something-year-old military veteran returning to his old high school stomping grounds for his twin brother’s wedding. Andrew does not want to be here — due to a tragedy that happened in his senior year of high school. While in town for the nuptials — Andrew is not only forced to deal with family issues, his sordid past, but also a mystery threatening the people he loves. During his short time in town, Andrew unexpectedly finds a reason that may make him change his mind and stay.
The novel can be picked up on Amazon or Kindle Unlimited. You can learn more about the author on her website https://darcyschroeder.com/
