Recap :: Bloom 2017 {An Event for New and Expecting Moms}

Corpus Christi Moms Blog, in partnership CHRISTUS Spohn Healthcare System and our our parent site City Moms Blog Network was thrilled to host Bloom :: An Event for New & Expecting Moms!  

Whether moms were expecting their first {or third!} child, had a newborn, or were thinking about expanding their family, they were invited to bring their mom, spouse, or even a friend for an amazing SOLD OUT evening that celebrated all things motherhood! {Even if nasty weather did try to spoil all our fun!}

We were over the moon for the chance to partner with CHRISTUS Spohn Healthcare System for this oh-so-special event! Their team of fun, passionate, and caring individuals provided new and expectant moms with support, encouragement, and answers. And their expert panelist, Obstetrics and Gynecology Specialist Dr. Kathleen Bailey provided great information and entertainment!

Bloom would not have been possible without our gracious hosts at Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History! We were excited to work with the Museum for several reasons, but especially because we wanted new and expecting moms to see their new Science Center and get the chance to chat with Museum team members to learn about regularly occurring family friendly events, camps, learning opportunities, and membership benefits.

Cheryl of Bumble-B Photography is our hero! Though she specializes in newborn and maternity photography, she jumped in for us in a pinch and saved the day, capturing beautiful images of Bloom attendees, event partners, and Corpus Christi Moms Blog team members. We are so thankful for her talent and partnership on this event!

An event called Bloom would not have been complete without beautiful floral centerpieces! So we were grateful to have the talented team at Castro’s Flowers involved, putting together lovely arrangements that brightened our event and then went home with local moms in attendance.

With Dr. Kathleen Bailey from CHRISTUS Spohn, Lauren Ranly Duke from American Bank, Dr. Heriberto D. Ramos, OD, PA of Complete Family Eye Care, Dr. Marilyn Brodeur of Infant Dental Center, and Dr. Sabeen Rani of Rani Pediatrics, we knew our expert panel would be informative, and we could hardly wait for attendees to ask questions and learn from our local experts. But we had no idea how entertaining and fun the session would be! Among other topics, our experts addressed questions such as:

When is it time to go to the hospital?
Where do you start when it comes to financial planning for a child and making a will?
How much is too much screen time for a child?
What are some signs that a child might be tongue or lip tied?
Is it safe to give babies pain reliever?

At Bloom, local moms got to shop, mix, and mingle with tons of amazing experts and businesses! From pediatrics to financial planning, apparel to photography, we were thrilled to connect moms to these brands and provide the opportunity to learn why these are some of our favorite resources for new and expecting moms!

Driscoll Children’s Hospital had their lactation specialists on hand at Bloom to help new and expecting moms and answer their questions.

Little Paper Crown brought an adorable selection items from their boutique so moms could take some time to shop for their little ones!

LulaRoe-Amanda Kerns brought cute and comfy clothes to help moms look and feel their best.

Amanda Gerber provided information about doTERRA essential oils to help moms keep themselves and their families happy and healthy.

The talented Portraits and Events by Lindsey Baker hosted mini maternity and newborn sessions at Bloom! We loved having their team there, and clearly, moms loved them too!

Short Cakes was on hand with beautiful and tasty treats for our guests!

The Vine Juice Company also provided their delicious and healthy juices!

Last, but not least, we want to offer a HUGE shout out and thank you to our event team for making Bloom possible! A ton of work goes on behind the scenes for our events to come to fruition, and we are grateful to have these amazing local moms involved! {Thank you also to the moms not pictured who had to head home to their babies during the storm!}
