Our Date night out in Rockport!

With 3 kids ages 7 and under and no family close by, my husband and I don’t get date nights very often.  But on the rare occasion that we do get to go out just the two of us, its such an amazing treat!  Our last date night we decided to stay local and spend our evening exploring our new home town: Rockport!

Rockport, TX- Date Night IdeasWe started the evening off by doing a little shopping downtown and hit up one of my favorite local spots- The Sea Shell Shoppe!  Such a cute little shop with so many fun treasures to find!  They are literally a shop that sells all things seashell: actual shells, amazing pieces of coral, and decorative items made of shells- and it’s (shockingly) reasonably priced in my opinion!

Then we headed to Rockport-Fulton Market Days where there are so many cool local artists and vendors offering really unique products.  Market Days is held on the festival grounds near Rockport Harbor every 3rd weekend of the month.  And it is FREE admission!  This is one of my absolute favorite pieces that we bought for our new home and it was painted and personalized by a local artist at R-F market days.

Then it was time for dinner.  We opted to try out a restaurant I’ve been wanting to eat at for awhile.  Its called GLOW seafood kitchen.  Its a very quaint charming little resturant on Broadway street right across from Little Bay in the heart of Rockport.

Let me tell you, it did not disappoint.  Amazing delicious drinks, over the top gourmet food and top notch service!  The “King Ranch Bubbles” and “Big Tree” cocktails were some of the most delicious and unique drinks that I’ve ever had.  We also had a delicious pulled pork queso appetizer and fabulous shrimp and grouper entrees.  It was SOOO yummy!

Though their desserts looked tempting, my husband and I really wanted to go sit by the water and and just get to talk- with no distractions.  But first we needed something sweet.  So, we decided to head to HEB.  We bought a piece of double chocolate cake and a Topo Chico (another of our favs) and went to go sit at Rockport Harbor and enjoy some quiet time together.  We had planned on heading to Rockport beach but the fog rolled in so we decided to just stay in the truck and park at the Harbor.

It was a great night, a real treat that we will remember for a long time.  Rockport-Fulton has a TON of really special date-night resturants.  We love Paradise Key and Latitudes.  There are also many great local bars to grab a drink before or after dinner.

Where are your favorite local date night spots in the coastal bend?  I would love new recommendations!  Happy date-nighting mommas!
