You guys.
It’s National Taco Day and I could not be more excited.
I’m pretty sure that eating delicious tacos (and guac, obvi) ranks right up there next to zip-lining, dancing at weddings, and getting married on Star Wars Day {May the Fourth be with you}.
In honor of one of my favorite holidays, we here at Corpus Christi Moms Blog have rounded up a few of our favorite spots to get a taco in the Coastal Bend! If you follow us on FB and Insta, I gave a shout out to my fave a couple of weeks ago and you guys did not disappoint when I asked for your recommendations! Taco Bar Street, it’s a food truck. They have awesome street tacos and nachos.
Taqueria El Tapatio 922 Railroad Ave, Portland, TX 78374
- I was just told recently by a local firefighter that this is the cleanest taco place they have seen! It’s the BEST in Portland.
- Agreed! We got breakfast tacos here all the time when we lived in Portland or now if we are passing through on our way to Corpus!
Las Milpas on Saratoga/Weber
Taqueria Chapala at Nile/McArdle is the one that our whole family agrees on as #1

Also, no good blog post on delicious tacos would be complete without a huge shout out to my beloved Chuy’s. I came to Corpus via Austin – where I fell in loooooooove with the Creamy Jalapeño. Not only do I still crave this delectable delight, but it’s allergy safe for my kiddo AND I basically love everything I have ever had there.
So…with that…go forth and eat some tacos today – – – all day in fact!
I know that my fam will have breakfast tacos, and dinner tacos today, and who knows – maybe we will have ice cream crepes for dessert because that is FOR SURE a type of taco.
Right?
