Boar’s Head and Yule Log Festival
Your family does not want to miss the 35th Annual Boar’s Head and Yule Log Festival in Corpus Christi! Come see one of their three performances. Showtimes are 3 pm, 5 pm, and 7 pm. Watch as participants dress in costumes and share the tale of the 12 days of Christmas. This event is free! Please consider donating canned goods and non-perishables to benefit the Food Bank of Corpus Christi, too.

Start the New Year off right by joining the community in a Bridgewalk over the Harbor Bridge. Meet at Heritage Park and begin walking at 8:30 am. Great view, and great walk!

Dog Show at the Nueces County Junior Livestock Show
Be sure to check out the Nueces County Junior Livestock Show in Robstown this week. While you’re visiting, kids 11 and under can participate in or come watch a fun and free Dog Show on Saturday, January 14th! Bring your well-behaved dog to enter into several award categories. {This is all for fun, and not a “professional dog show.”} Registration begins at 12:30 pm, and show starts at 1 pm.

1-2-3 Grow with Me: A Family Place Library
Ben F. McDonald Public Library is becoming “A Family Place Library.” Come celebrate the kick-off of this new family place! There will be a book sale, a book signing, crafts, and face painting. This event is for children ages 6 and under.

Crusty Critter Program in Port Aransas
Come to the Marine Science Education Center for a FREE educational program, and learn more about crusty critters. Take a closer look at Crustaceans, such as blue crabs, hermit crabs, fiddler crabs, and shrimp. All ages are welcome to observe, interact, and get a hands-on experience with these crusty critters. RSVP ahead of time!

Manga Mixer at La Retama Central Public Library
Meet other Manga/Anime fans at La Retama Central Public Library. Games, trivia, anime, Asian foods, crafts, and Jenga! Cosplay is encouraged!
January 16
Sign Camp for Kids at the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Center
Kids ages 5-12 years old can attend a one day camp at the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Center. They will have the opportunity to learn sign language through games, art, and crafts. Enjoy light snacks and movies, too! Bring your own lunch. This day camp is $45. For more information, call 361-993-1154.

Enjoy a tasty treat and fun entertainment with your kids at Food Truck Friday! There’s live music, lawn games, and of course, food trucks!

25th Annual Kid Fish at Lake Corpus Christi
Bring your kids ages 5-12 out to Lake Corpus Christi and fish FREE for Rainbow Trout! A small section of the lake will be stocked with trout just for them! The first 500 kids get a free fishing pole to take home with them, too. Join in other games and activities throughout the day! Hourly sessions will start at 9:00 AM. Kids must be present to register. Park Gate will open at 8:00 AM. For more information, contact the Park Headquarters at 361-547-2635.

9th Annual Islanders Cheer and Dance Clinic
Pre-K through 12th Grade children and teens can participate in the 9th Annual Islanders Cheer and Dance Clinic at the American Bank Center. Dancers, dance teams, cheerleaders and cheer teams are welcome to attend. Previous experience is NOT required. Kids will be invited to perform that evening at the Islanders’ game, too.
