Disney Reads Day at Barnes and Noble

Come for a special children’s event at Barnes and Noble in Corpus Christi. They will be celebrating the Magic of Storytelling on Disney Reads Day with popular Disney stories, fun activities, and giveaways (while supplies last.)

Color Vibe 5K-Corpus Christi

The 2017 Good Vibes Tour is coming to Corpus Christi with the Color Vibe 5K. Kids 12 and under even run for FREE with a paid adult!! Part of the proceeds will be donated to a local charity. Register online beforehand.

Teddy Bear Tea Party-Moms and Tots at the Art Museum

You won’t want to miss the Art Museum’s Annual Teddy Bear Tea Party! Bring your favorite teddy bear or stuffed animal to this morning of art, story time, music, apple juice, and cookies. Call or go online to reserve your spot today! Seating is limited.  Special Cost:members $10/nonmembers $15. Ages 2-5 (preschool) accompanied by an adult helper.

Father-Daughter Dance and Masquerade 2017

The Portland Parks & Recreation Department will be hosting the 8th Annual Father/Daughter Ball.  All school age girls are invited to bring their father, grandfather, uncle, brother or other father figure to the event.  The Community Center will be decorated in a masquerade theme and snacks will be provided. Enjoy music, a photo booth, a photographer, and a sundae bar! Guests are asked to wear semi-formal attire. Tickets can be purchased at the Portland Community Center and all Kidz Klub sites. 

Valentine’s Dance at Kidz Ultimate Party Zone

Children in 5th grade through 8th grade are invited to attend a Valentine’s Day dance just for them. Entry fee is $10. There will be a photo booth, concessions, and a dance contest.

Texas Adopt a Beach Winter Cleanup 2017

Come out to the Padre Island National Seashore for this family-friendly volunteer event! Come help clean up the Beach, enjoy the outdoors, and engage in healthy activities while learning more about our national parks. Register at the Malaquite Visitor Center between 8:30 and 10:00 am. This event will occur rain or shine. A hot-dog lunch will be provided for participants after the clean-up.

A Valentine’s Day Manga Soiree at La Retama Library

Celebrate Valentine’s Manga style with crafts, Asian food, games, and Anime/Manga fun!

Valentine’s Parents’ Night Out at Impact City Church

Impact Church is giving parents an opportunity to have a date night! They will watch your kids, provide a movie, popcorn, pizza, and crafts while you’re out! Cost is only $10 per child, with a maximum of $30 per family if more than 3 children are registered. Registration deadline is February 8th.

Hearts and Crafts Young Artist Workshop

Stop by the Art Museum of South Texas for a morning of heARTS and crafts. They will celebrate Valentine’s Day with a fun and crafty workshop that your children will love. Use a variety of materials like paint, glitter glue, and stamps to create one-of-a-kind cards and a colorful work of heART on canvas. Designed for children ages K5-12.

Kite Day 2017 

Padre Island National Seashore will be hosting its annual Kite Day! Kids can make their own kite for free (while supplies last)! Kite-flying clubs will give tips and demonstrate techniques. Stop at Malaquite Beach in front of the Malaquite Visitor Center for this event. The cost is Free with Paid park entrance fee. Hope to see you and your family out there for Kite Day!

3rd Annual Teen Bookfest by the Bay    

Visit the Annual Teen Bookfest by the Bay and meet young adult authors. This event will include author panels, illustrating clinics, and a manga mixer. Cosplay is encouraged. Free admission and free parking!

Free Entrance to Padre Island National Seashore-President’s Day 2017

The National Park Service just turned 100 years old! Celebrate the start of our second century by visiting a park in 2017. In honor of President’s Day, National Park Service sites that charge an entrance fee will offer free admission to everyone on February 20, 2017. This includes Padre Island National Seashore!

2017 Big Shell Beach Clean-up

It’s time for the 22nd Annual Bill Sandifer Big Shell Cleanup. Join the community in cleaning up marine debris on Big Shell Beach. Meet at the Malaquite Pavilion parking lot at 8 am. The park entrance will be waived for the clean up. A Free lunch will be provided after the clean-up.

Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss Story Time at Barnes and Noble

Join the Barnes and Noble community in celebrating Dr. Seuss’ Birthday. Enjoy story time, coloring, and activities centered around this awesome author.

Barefoot Mardi Gras Parade 2017

Be in the Barefoot Mardi Gras Parade on the beach or just come watch the parade! Enjoy the festival, dance, and food at the ball, too.
