The Coastal Bend is packed with amazing moms. And as Corpus Christi Moms Blog continues to grow, we meet and hear about more and more diverse local women with unique stories and perspectives. However, despite the differences, local moms have much in common. We are share passion for our community and motherhood.
That said, we hope you enjoy hearing from the following amazing local moms who have added their voices to our writing team. We are so excited to have them involved!
Amy R.
An original Okie, Amy and her husband moved to the Coastal Bend in 2015. She is a stay-at-home mom to one ornery little boy and a wife to an ornery high school football coach and math teacher. Before becoming a wife and momma, Amy received a bachelors degree from Oklahoma State University (go pokes!) in Design, Housing, and Merchandising. She enjoys creating a homemade lifestyle for her family-lots of DIY-ing, homemade baby food, and cloth diapering happens around her house! When Amy is not attending high school sporting events or on mommy duty, she enjoys reading, writing, running, spending time on Pinterest, drinking coffee, and cooking healthy meals.
Amy W.
Amy is a stay at home mama bear of three, two very active boys ages 7 and 5, and a spitfire 6 month old baby girl. She is an Independent Consultant for Scentsy and full time student working on her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. Amy’s husband, Austin , is a Fire Captain at NASCC. The couple loves God, family, baseball, the Green Bay Packers, fishing, beaching, trying new foods, and spending time laughing together. They are active in the STX baseball community as her husband coaches and she is “Team Mom/Manager.” They live life with the motto of being “perfectly imperfect.” Amy hopes to let mothers know that they are not alone in the parenting journey with its many ups and downs, twists and turns. She hopes other see that we are all in this parenting puzzle together and everyone has their own unique, individual piece.
Misty
Misty is a native Texan but moved to Corpus Christi in 2014 with her family of six when her quadruplets were just eight months old. (That’s right; quadruplets. As in FOUR babies born at the same time.) Misty and her husband Adam spend most of their time tending to their four three-year-olds. She enjoys sharing her adventures in parenting high order multiples and feels that, just as when dealing with quads, it’s always best with a healthy dose of humor and sarcasm. Most of the past four years feel like a blur, spent just trying to survive on God’s grace alone: a struggle with infertility, a challenging pregnancy, three moves (two with quads and one while pregnant.) an emergency delivery, 52 days in the NICU, her mother’s battle and ultimate loss to cancer, and then there’s that whole raising quadruplets alone in a city where she knew no one, miles away from friends and family, while the hubby worked out of town. Blogging and ridiculous amounts of Facebook posting have become a way of life not only in order to stay in touch with loved ones, but also to serve as a reminder of where her family has come from and all they’ve been through. Misty leads a busy life tending to the needs of four very active toddlers, substitute teaching, helping others learn about the amazing benefits of Young Living essential oils, and documenting her journey on her blog at www.lotsobabylane.com. Still, there’s always time in her life for God and crafts. Misty is an active member of Bayshore Bible Church and enjoys all things crafty (presently, all things vinyl.)
Priscilla
Priscilla is native to Corpus Christi. She feels blessed to be a stay-at-home mom to her son, Noah {2} and is currently expecting a daughter named Greenlee in June. Also living with her family, are her two stepdaughters, Rylee {11} and Bella {6.} Priscilla has been married to her husband, Matt, for 3.5 years. The couple has known each other since middle school. A graduate of Texas A&M University- Corpus Christi with a BS in Criminal Justice, Priscilla is the owner of a Facebook children’s clothing online boutique, named after her son, NOAH & friends. In her spare time, Priscilla is gearing up to have home parties as a Fashion Agent for fibi & clo relaunch 2017. Priscilla loves to craft and is currently learning more on how to sew. Her monthly get away is being a member of the FUNdraiser Club, where she served as their president for 2016. They meet once a month to discuss great causes, to give back to, with a sip of wine for extra fun. Priscilla enjoys meeting new moms in the community and learning from others experiences about raising children. Priscilla is excited to share her thoughts and some of her experiences with you; and hopes you find a good giggle or feeling of not being alone in the mommy world from her writing.
Sara
Sara is wife to a coach, momma to one fur baby and one human baby, and a work-at-home project manager by day {and night.} She is committed to her faith at all times and interested in fitness, food, and fun in her spare time. In 2012, Sara married her college sweetheart and now follows him around as a collegiate baseball coach’s wife – most recently to the Coastal Bend. The couple welcomed a strong, smart, opinionated, hilarious, just-like-her-momma daughter in 2015, who has turned their world upside down in the best way possible! You can follow their adventures on Instagram at @Team.Midd.
Stephanie
Stephanie is a stay-at-home-mom to two little ones. She loves all things Hanson, Harry Potter and Disney. Though Stephanie and her husband live in Mathis, they are both Corpus Christi natives. She has a B.A. in English from the University of Dallas.
Tori
In addition to being a wife and mom, Tori runs her husband’s chiropractic practice as the Marketing & Public Relations Director as well as the face you see when you come in. She absolutely loves working side by side with her husband and wouldn’t have it any other way! If she has any spare time after all of that, you can find her in the gym or the yoga studio, in the kitchen baking, at the grocery store finding the stinkiest piece of cheese, or at thrift / antique stores shopping for the next treasure she can transform.
CCMB is doing big things in the Coastal Bend! I’m so excited to be a part of it!
We’re so glad you’re part of our team Sara!! 🙂
