5 Coastal Bend Organizations that support Moms & Families

0

Finding brands and organizations that give back makes me very happy. I was raised in a family that valued volunteerism, activism, and community involvement.

When I became a mother, it became even more important to me to be involved in the community where my children would grow up and to spend my money on brands that I felt were actively trying to make a difference for a better world. From the diapers we use for our kids, to the philanthropic organizations that we support locally, creating a lifestyle build on giving back is so important to model for our children.

Organizations that Give Back | Coastal Bend Mom Collective

We love living in a community that has so many incredible organizations that give back. Today we want to share 5 organizations that are impacting moms and families every day.

AMISTAD COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTERAmistad Health Services

Amistad Community Health Center was founded in 2005 as a not-for-profit, faith-based organization aimed to address the growing number of community members lacking health insurance, a primary care provider, and a place to receive affordable, quality medical attention. Amistad provides services to all persons regardless of their ability to pay by charging for services on a sliding fee scale based on a patient’s family size and income. Amistad provides services to people in every stage of the life cycle.

COASTAL BEND FOOD BANK

Coastal Bend Food BankThe Coastal Bend Food Bank’s Mobile Pantry program reaches individuals and families living in rural areas and surrounding counties of South Texas. Currently, CBFB Mobile Pantry has 27 distribution sites serving families in the 11 county service area.

The Coastal Bend Food Bank’s Kids’ Backpack program aims to provide children with nutritious food to take home for the weekend. Backpacks are filled with nutritious, child-friendly food and are distributed on the day before weekends or holiday vacations.

This can be done at the CBFB, at an active pantry or mobile pantry, or over the phone.
