Valentine’s Day is right around the corner!
I have to admit, it’s my absolute favorite holiday.
The hearts, the chocolates, the flowers, the color red... I’m a sucker for all of it.
Maybe it’s because my dad used to send me balloons and a huge bear to school each year, or the fact that I subconciously doodle hearts every time I get a pen and paper in my hand.
I just love, love.
(And cute Valentine’s Day decor.)
There’s so many things to do in the Coastal Bend to celebrate an exciting Valentine’s Day evening. I’ve included 3 of my favorite cozy restaurants as well as some other fun date ideas to try out this year.
So, let’s get to it!

Frank’s Spaghetti House
Frank’s is an all-time favorite date night restaurant of mine. The vintage-esque italian atmosphere is so romantic and warm, it helps that the food is delicious as well. Also, one word: Insta-cute. (Hashtag do it for the gram.) Call them before-hand to get your reservations, since they usually book quickly for this time of year!

Imperial Cafe
If you’re craving some good ol’ sushi in a romantic atmosphere, Imperial Cafe is the spot! I remember my husband bringing me here to one of our first dates and feeling so lovey-dovey with the live jazz music playing in the background. They recently opened back up again after remodeling and are known for their amazing SUSHI BOATS! It’s so yummy, they’ll even have a special on them this year so book yourself a table and may your “lovey-dovey” rise up.

A Beach Picnic
Ok, so this is an obvious one if you live here.
But honestly, there’s nothing that says romance more than a beautiful sunset picnic on the beach. If you’re on a budget this year, or just don’t want to deal with the large crowd at the restaurants, why not take advantage of mother nature? Heck, I might be doing that this year myself. Beach picnics are the best!
Alamo Drafthouse
My husband and I are major movie geeks. We love the art of well-made film! I know we’re not the only ones. Alamo Drafthouse is a perfect option if you’re looking to sit back and have some dinner while you watch a flick. This V-Day they’ll also be hosting a “Moulin Rouge! Movie Party” with some fun props and a dance contest… How fun is that?!
